Take the Survey: Walk Bridge Program Seeks to Minimize Construction Impacts to Norwalk Business

June 12, 2018

The Walk Bridge Program is preparing to replace the 122-year-old deteriorating railroad bridge that crosses the Norwalk River. The swing-bridge is an essential piece of infrastructure for rail commuters and mariners alike. The stretch of railroad known as the New Haven Line, is a critical transportation link for the Northeast Corridor, connecting Washington D.C., New York City, and Boston, while serving around 125,000 passengers daily. The new 240’ Vertical Lift bridge delivers a modern replacement that will maintain river access and reduce delays experienced by rail commuters.

As design for the Walk Bridge replacement Project progresses, the Program wants to hear from local businesses in an effort to coordinate construction activities and help minimize construction impacts. Please take a moment to allow your business’s needs to be heard. Take the Business Coordination Survey here.
